This Privacy Policy explains how EazyCV ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal data when you use eazycv.app and related services ("Service"). We aim to collect only what we need to run the resume builder and process PDF purchases.

1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

Information you provide

• Resume content — names, contact details, work history, education, and other fields you enter in the editor.
• Account data — if you sign in (via our authentication provider), we receive your account identifier and profile information such as email, as configured in your account settings.
• Payment-related data — checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive payment status, amounts, and identifiers needed to grant PDF access; we do not store full payment card numbers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data — pages visited, actions taken, browser type, and similar technical logs needed for security and reliability.
• Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage of the site. You can limit tracking via browser settings or opt-out tools offered by Google.
• Local storage — if you use the Service without signing in, resume drafts may be stored in your browser (localStorage/sessionStorage) until you sign in or clear browser data.

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

• provide the editor, live preview, and PDF generation;
• save resumes to your account when you are signed in;
• process payments and enforce time-limited PDF download access;
• secure the Service, prevent abuse, and fix errors;
• improve features and understand aggregate usage trends;
• comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We process data based on contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security and improvement), consent where required (for example certain cookies), and legal obligation where applicable.

4. How we share data

We share data with service providers who help us operate the Service, including:

• Clerk — authentication and account management;
• Supabase / hosting infrastructure — database and application hosting;
• Stripe — payment processing;
• Google — analytics (aggregate usage).

These providers process data under their own terms and, where applicable, data processing agreements. We do not sell your personal data.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition with appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

Saved resumes remain in your account until you delete them or close your account. PDF access records are kept for the access period and a reasonable time afterward for support and accounting. Logs and analytics are retained for limited periods consistent with our operational needs.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as HTTPS, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong password and protect your account credentials.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent. To exercise these rights, email support@eazycv.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it where appropriate.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
